XML Defined
[Abbreviation for "Extensible Markup Lamguage"] A new form of Web markup language (like HTML) that not only tells the browser how to display the content on a page, but what type of content. For example, a tag could be used to say that a paragraph contains information on widgets for sale. A shopping bot could then scour the XML pages on the Web and find who has the cheapest widgets available. XML can be used to aggregate any type of information on the Web.
